Hello,
I just wanted to take a moment to share one of my favorite quotes and a few words of introduction.
Let's start with the quote.
"We don't have mistakes here, we just have happy accidents." ~ Bob Ross
When I was younger I watched more than a couple of episodes of 'The Joy of Painting' with my parents and siblings. This phrase, one of the most memorable phrases about creativity, is pure magic. The very thoughts and sentiments it conjures forth are searched after like the Holy Grail... A Holy Grail I've been needing more of in my life. It's something I've been stumbling around in the dark for with no map, no lights, and no support.
I've decided it's time for that to change. As part of that change, I joined DeviantArt.com earlier this week in the hopes that I can find a little light and a few friends, and maybe... just maybe... make a new map. We'll see.
Want to help? Check out my art and let me know what you think. If you have suggestions, I'd like to hear them. If you just want to say hi, I'd like that too.
Thank you.
P.S. "So from all of us here, I'd like to wish you happy painting, and God bless, my friend." ~ Bob Ross

MTG Alt Art Rabbit Hole
So my fiancé of 4 years and myself ended our relationship. My best friend had been working on a Wedding gift for me, a MTG Commander deck that I've wanting for years. He gave it to me for Christmas. It was themed to kobolds and traps with some beefy dragons as filler... So now I want to go ahead with this idea I've been wanting to do for him for awhile. I want to build a MTG Commander deck themed to Star Trek, and do alternate art and quotes for all the cards. That being said, I could certainly use some feedback... This is what I have so far: USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) = Skyship Weatherlight USS Enterprise (NCC-1701 B?) = Weatherlight Captain James Tiberius Kirk = Sisay, Weatherlight Captain - Commanderirst Officer Spock (Vulcan) = Oracle of Mul Daya or Etrata, the Silencer? Chief Medical Officer Leonard McCoy = Tel-Jilad Lifebreather Chief Engineer Montgomery Scott = Timestream Navigator Comm. Officer Nyota Uhara = Mangara, the Diplomat Navigator Pavel Chekov = Captain Ripley
Writing a story...
I've been building this story in my head for a while now. Needed to start getting it down. Also need some encouragement and would like to hear your thoughts.
Chapter 1: Characters include Mom, Dad, my brother Kevin, my lover Phil.
I hungered… I starved.
She lifted her head and yawned, then scented the air. Faint deer musk thinned in the breeze. A meal was close.
It wasn’t that kind of hunger. I was starved of my past; left to feel a sickening nostalgia for Mom and Dad, for Kevin, for the comfort of our home, and even my lumpy barely comfortable bed. It was a picture
5th Annual Zombie Walk
Here I am trying to plan out my calendar for the next six months... And websense, the censoring software present in my office environment, blocks access to http://desmoineszombiewalk.com/... Apparently walking around as zombies for a charity is considered gambling. GAMBLING!!! What in hell? I don't remember any gambling at the last couple of these I went to. What could possibly be giving it that idea? No. Seriously, I'd like to know.
Well, at least I can get to https://www.facebook.com/DesMoinesZombieWalk?ref=br_tf to find out the date. Sigh.
Speaking of last year, I've included a picture I took from the 4th annual Des Moines Zombie
Hard Work
I've been thinking about doing a web comic. I've thought up several characters, gotten a rough idea of the background of the area, and I've started thinking of plot threads. I've began looking at registering a domain name, where to have it hosted, and about costs. I've also started thinking about website design. There have been a few things that have been holding me back.
The one obstacle looming largest over my plan is that I am not a great artist... far from it. Seriously, have you seen :thumb328436646: or :thumb328439150: ?
Yup... my best efforts to date have been when I'm either doodling or really working for it. Take a look at :
